Routers Available at the meetup
TP-Link TL-WR841ND https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr841nd
Steps to follow
1. Identify the Router you have
You will be able to find, typically in the back of your Router, the Model and Version of your Router, this information will be used to identify which version of OpenWRT you will need to install. See image below for an example:
2. Install OpenWRT
Find the router you have in the official list of OpenWRT compatible routers here: https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/start
Different router models have different levels of adoption and that reflects in the depth of the documentation available. As a user of any given Router and due to the FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) nature of this project, you can (and are very welcome to), contribute, suggest edits to the docs and add more information.
=2.1 Connect your Router following the diagram=
You can identify the ports by looking at the following image:
After this setup is done, make sure you have connectivity by testing ping in your terminal. Once you have confirmed, open your browser at 192.168.0.1 to access TP-LINK Management dashboard.
_TODO: WE NEED A SCREENSHOT HERE OF THE DEFAULT TP-LINK ADMIN PANEL_
3. Get your IP Address from Unimos
Before configuring your router, it is handy to have an IP Address Range already available that you can use it to configure. To get this IP Address Range, send an email to suporte@unimos.net introducing yourself and why do you want to join the network, requesting for a IP Address Range that you can use in your Unimos ready router. Sending cats up your priority.
4. Configuration
To configure your router, we have to access it through a remote terminal. You can do it by following the steps below:
=4.1 telnet into your router=
=4.2 wget the configuration script=
=4.3 run the script=
